  • Title: The effect of raised intraluminal pressure on the structure and organization of experimental red venous thrombi.
    Author: Scott GB, Kenefick J.
Journal: Br J Exp Pathol; 1972 Feb; 53(1):22-7. PubMed ID: 5014239.
    Abstract:
The organization of thrombi, induced by thrombin, was studied in occluded veins whose intraluminal pressure had been raised through the production of an arteriovenous anastomosis. Such thrombi closely resembled those formed in occluded arteries both in structure and the extent to which they underwent organization, thereby confirming the importance of the intraluminal pressure in these respects.
