Title: [Treatment of bladder hemorrhages due to inoperable pelvic cancers by embolization of the hypogastric arteries (author's transl)]. Author: Carmignani G, Belgrano E, Puppo P, Cichero A, Giuliani L. Journal: J Radiol; 1979; 60(6-7):423-8. PubMed ID: 501701. Abstract: Transcatheter embolization of the hypogastric arteries has become more and more widely used in the management of bladder hemorrages due to inoperable pelvic cancers. It is a not shocking technique for the patient, without major complications. However, if its immediate results can be defined as very good, its long-term effects are not well known. The purpose of this paper is to describe the Authors' experience on this matter, which is based on 9 cases of transcatheter embolization of the hypogastric arteries. The patients were followed for at least 1 year or, in some cases, until their death.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
