Title: [Shape of uterine cavity after the insertion of IUD of the DANA cor type]. Author: Nesit V. Journal: Cesk Gynekol; 1972 Sep; 37(7):514-5. PubMed ID: 5077975. Abstract: The level of deformity of the uterine cavity after insertion of a DANA cor IUD was examined. In most cases a hysterographic examination was performed and in others, where the women were being prepared for a hysterectomy operation, the IUD was inserted before the operation and the uterine cavity was removed with the IUD still implanted. Unlike Dana and Dana Super, the IUD Dana cor caused no change in the shape of the uterine cavity up to 1 hour after insertion. Afterwards, the only distortion was a heartlike shape of the cavity, which resulted from the insertion. Of all the Czechoslovak IUDs, the shape of the Dana cor is best suited for the uterine cavity; it is therefore reasonable to assume that it will disturb the menstrual cycle much less than the others. However, because of its smaller surface area, expulsions and failure of its effectiveness cannot be excluded.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
