Abstract: A case is reported of renal insufficiency in a solitary kidney secondary to hydronephrosis of pregnancy. Evidence supporting obstruction on a mechanical basis is presented. This entity should be considered when pursuing a correctable cause for functional renal deterioration in pregnant women.
