Title: [Systematic deviations of saccadic eye movements in Wallenberg syndrome]. Author: Hamann KU. Journal: Ophthalmologica; 1979; 178(6):373-80. PubMed ID: 530554. Abstract: A patient suffering from lateral medullary infarction (Wallenberg's syndrome) is presented, exhibiting a striking bias of all saccadic eye movements toward the side of the lesion. Oculographic tracings demonstrate this oculomotor disorder. Other disturbances of ocular motility which resemble this one superficially are discussed. Interruption of fixation leads to a gliding movement veeringly to the side of the infarction. Since all saccades generated under different circumstances are affected, it is contemplated where the pathological signal is intruded into the prenuclear level, to adulterate all saccades causing lateropulsion of saccadic eye movements.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
