Title: Excision of uveal melanomas: a 15-year experience. Author: Kara GB. Journal: Ophthalmology; 1979 Jun; 86(6):997-1023. PubMed ID: 534105. Abstract: A 15-year experience with excision of selected uveal melanomas indicates that the human eye does not tolerate a dissection of an intraocular tumor exceeding 10 mm in diameter. Twenty-seven out of 35 eyes retained useful vision. Three cases required enucleation after excision, two of these owing to tumor recurrence. Only one tumor death has occurred, five years and four months after excision.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
