    Abstract:
    A study is presented of a case of serous detachment of the mucula secondary to congenital pit of the optic disc. We observed during fluorescein angiography a late leakage of dye at the temporal margin of the disc. A lasercoagulation of this lesion gave a favourable result. All these findings support Gass' explanation implicating a mechanical defect in the region of the pit that permits spinal fluid to seep beneath the retina.
