Title: Raised serum PRL and androgen levels associated with hyrsutism, amenorrhoea and galactorrhoea. Author: Malato M. Journal: Acta Eur Fertil; 1978 Dec; 9(4):175-83. PubMed ID: 573041. Abstract: This is a report of a case of a case of amenorrhoea-galactorrhoea syndrome with hyperprolactinaemia associated with increase of plasma androstenedione and urinary 17-ketosteroids, gradually developed in a sterile subject. Plasma LH and testosterone levels and the results of adrenal suppression and ovarian stimulation tests seem to prove, point towards, the adrenal as the likely source of androgens. Treatment with bromocryptin for 20 weeks brought about a reduction to normal of both PRL and androgens. Resumption of ovulatory cycles followed thereafter and a pregnancy eventually occurred.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
