    Abstract:
    Results of leg lengthening with the Kawamura method are reported here. This procedure was in 8 cases, where a 2,8--4,0 cm (i.e. 10%) lengthening was achieved. There were 2 transient peroneal palsies and in one case bony union was achieved with autologous bone transplantation for delayed healing. In correctly selected cases even 3--8 cm shortening can be safely managed with this method.
