    Abstract:
    Human lymphoblastoid interferon has high antiviral activity on guinea pig endothelial cells. Guinea pig interferon prepared in guinea pig endothelial cells protected guinea pig cells but did not give antiviral protection to human or to monkey cells. In this case, as in many others, the phenomenon is of one way crossing of the species barrier from the higher to the lower.
