Title: [Metastatic tumors of the uvea (author's transl)]. Author: Daicker B. Journal: Klin Monbl Augenheilkd; 1981 Apr; 178(4):329-36. PubMed ID: 6165857. Abstract: Uveal metastases are now the most common intraocular tumors. The ophthalmologist is becoming increasingly involved in their diagnosis and treatment due to advances in systemic cancer therapy. These metastases can often be distinguished from autochthonous tumors by reason of their location, appearance and behavior. A synopsis of these characteristics is exemplified by a short review of the literature and by original histological and clinical material from patients with uveal metastases arising from a wide range of primary tumors. The lessons which may be derived from this material for the diagnosis and local treatment of these metastases is discussed.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
