Abstract: In a canine model of acute hemorrhagic pancreatitis, crystalloid resuscitation with a balanced salt solution adequately restored plasma volume, supported tissue perfusion and prevented excessive hemodilution without detrimental effects on pulmonary pressures or oxygenation.
