  • Title: Calcifying odontogenic cysts (keratoameloblatomas).
    Author: Jung I, Nám L.
Journal: Morphol Embryol (Bucur); 1984; 30(3):201-4. PubMed ID: 6239097.
    Abstract:
Two cases of calcifying odontogenic cyst were studied in males over 50. The histopathological diagnosis was based on the presence of ghost cells, partly calcified, in the thickness of the epithelium lining the cyst. These cells contained keratin occurring without keratohyalin granules. We consider that this lesion may be primary or secondary the latter occurring in common odontogenic cysts through the secondary differentiation of epithelial cells.
