  • Title: [Coincidence of melanoma growth and immune status? Virus antigens as a parameter (author's transl)].
Author: Weber G, zur Hausen H, Klughardt G, Galle K.
Journal: MMW Munch Med Wochenschr; 1981 Feb 20; 123(8):295-8. PubMed ID: 6261128.
    Abstract:
Antibody titer determinations against Epstein-Barr virus were carried out after primary operation in 51 patients with malignant melanoma in an observation period of 18 months. A coincidence of tumor growth and reduced immune defense was established. The antibody titer thus serves as a parameter for assessment of immune behavior.
