    Abstract:
    Trichotillomania is a relatively frequent cause of alopecia in children. An area of the scalp, of irregular shape, partially devoided of hair or eventually a geometrically designed alopecic area should suggest the diagnosis. The histologic alterationes are characteristic. Most children with trichotillomania have mild alterationes of personality, some require psychiatric evaluation.
