  • Title: [Excitability of spinal alpha-motoneurons in patients with neurologic syndromes of lumbar osteochondrosis].
    Author: Musaev AV.
Journal: Zh Nevropatol Psikhiatr Im S S Korsakova; 1983; 83(4):486-90. PubMed ID: 6305066.
    Abstract:
The excitability of spinal alpha-motoneurons was studied by assessing the monosynaptic H-reflex and the "intensity-duration" curve in 77 patients with neurologic syndromes of lumbar osteochondrosis (lumboischialgia, paralytic ischias, radicular and caudal syndromes) and in 18 practically healthy individuals. The excitability of alpha-motoneurons was found to be elevated in lumboischialgia and decreased in paralytic ischias, radicular and especially caudal syndromes. These changes play an important role in the mechanism of the development of motor disorders.
