Title: Comparative in vitro susceptibilities of anaerobic bacteria to cefmenoxime, cefotetan, and N-formimidoyl thienamycin. Author: Owens WE, Finegold SM. Journal: Antimicrob Agents Chemother; 1983 Apr; 23(4):626-9. PubMed ID: 6305265. Abstract: The in vitro activities of cefmenoxime, cefotetan, and N-formimidoyl thienamycin were compared with those of other antimicrobial agents (metronidazole, clindamycin, cefoxitin, and moxalactam) against anaerobic bacteria. The data obtained indicate that N-formimidoyl thienamycin exhibits excellent activity against anaerobic bacteria; cefotetan and cefmenoxime, though less active, should be of value in treating selected anaerobic infections.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
