  • Title: [Biological behavior of prostatic carcinoma. II. Clinico-surgical studies on lymphogenic metastasizing of prostatic carcinoma].

    Abstract:
Some aspects of biological behaviour of prostatic carcinoma can be clarified by investigations of the occurrence of lymphatic metastases in relation to tumor-criteria. Our results with 70 pelvic lymphadenectomies do not show any correlation between lymphatic metastases and certain parameters of primary tumor. The existence of lymphatic metastases is found not only in high T-categories but also in "incidental" carcinoma and well-differentiated tumor. Thus we recognize a biological individuality of each prostatic carcinoma. On the bases of our lymphadenectomy series we also found inability of lymphography in the exact determination of the N-category in 50%. We conclude from our investigations, that the individual morphological pattern of prostatic carcinoma is not able to indicate the degree of malignancy or to influence therapeutic proceedings.
