Title: [Spinal injuries with neurological signs while practicing a sport]. Author: Depassio J, Toraldo C, Minaire P, Boisson D, Eysette M. Journal: Sem Hop; 1983 Dec 08; 59(45):3131-5. PubMed ID: 6320404. Abstract: The authors report seventy-three cases of spinal cord injuries resulting from the practice of sports. The frequency of these accidents has not increased over the past ten years, and these accidents, resulting in paraplegia, only account for 7.3% of a population of one thousand spinal cord injuries. The victims are mainly young men, and the principal cause is diving. Tetraplegia predominates, and recovery is highly improbable.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
