Abstract: Liver transplantation is indicated in infaust liver damages only. The most important complications are rejection, disturbances in the bile tract, problems with preservation and general infections. In the surgical clinic of the Charité Berlin 17 liver transplantations have been practiced. 5 of those patients are living now between 2 months and 3.3 years. A new technique of bile duct reconstruction was tested and is clinically used now.
