Title: Type A behavior and coronary heart disease. Author: Abbott AV, Snyder CL, Vogel ME. Journal: Am Fam Physician; 1984 Oct; 30(4):209-17. PubMed ID: 6388293. Abstract: Coronary-prone (Type A) behavior is an independent risk factor for ischemic heart disease (coronary heart disease). Recent investigations indicate that modification of Type A behavior is possible and that such treatment reduces the likelihood of subsequent coronary events. Type A behavior is not difficult to recognize in day-to-day family practice. By recognizing and responding to coronary-prone behavior, family physicians can play an active role in the prevention and treatment of coronary heart disease.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
