Title: Stapled anastomosis after colorectal resection for benign and malignant disease. Author: Raidoo SN, Angorn IB. Journal: S Afr Med J; 1984 Nov 24; 66(21):819-21. PubMed ID: 6390732. Abstract: Low anastomosis using the EEA stapling device was performed in 60 patients after resection for benign and malignant colorectal disease. There were no procedure-related deaths. The anastomosis leaked in 11 patients (18%), and there was abscess formation in 7 patients (12%) in whom the anastomosis was performed 5-8 cm from the anus. Certain technical innovations are recommended to minimize anastomotic disruption.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
