Title: [Experience in percutaneous nephrostomy]. Author: Nishino A, Misaki T, Hisazumi H. Journal: Hinyokika Kiyo; 1984 Jul; 30(7):883-90. PubMed ID: 6391120. Abstract: Percutaneous nephrostomy using the Seldinger technique was performed on 15 kidneys in 15 patients with obstructive hydronephrosis. A real-time ultrasound unit was used for needle guidance. Puncture was successful in the first attempt in 11 of the 15 cases (73.3%), and two or more repeated punctures were necessary in only 4 cases (26.7%). Subsequent catheter placement was feasible in each of the kidneys without any serious complications. This procedure proved to be safe, precise and highly useful in the management of the supravesical urinary obstruction by various diseases. Techniques, indications, results and complications of percutaneous nephrostomy are discussed.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
