Title: [Determination of the internal mycoflora of grain for quality control]. Author: Kwella M, Weissbach F. Journal: Zentralbl Mikrobiol; 1984; 139(6):453-62. PubMed ID: 6393644. Abstract: A method for the investigation of the internal mycoflora of cereal grains is described. Surface disinfected kernels are incubated on a malt agar with 5% NaCl. The percentage of kernels containing moulds of different taxa and ecological groups, the infection rate, is determined. Qualitative changes are better demonstrated qualitatively by the determination of the sum infection rates of the ecological groups of the field and storage fungi. The fitness of this method for the estimation of the quality of cereal grains is demonstrated by numerous results from literature and own investigations of grain spoilage.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
