Title: Non-mutagenicity of KBT-1585, a novel ester of ampicillin. Author: Yamabe S, McCoy EC, Rosenkranz HS. Journal: Chemioterapia; 1984 Feb; 3(1):60-2. PubMed ID: 6399011. Abstract: The Ames test indicated that ampicillin (ABPC) and its novel ester KBT-1585 were non-mutagenic for any of the tester strains of Salmonella typhimurium TA 98, TA 100, TA 1535 and TA 1538, both in the presence and in the absence of rat liver microsomal activation mixtures. Diacetyl, the first metabolite of KBT-1585 by the in vitro hydrolysis proved to be non-mutagenic for a new tester strain TA 102 which is exquisitely sensitive to ketones and aldehydes.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
