  • Title: How many views to a liver scan?
Author: Lentle BC, Jackson FI, Higgins EM.
Journal: J Can Assoc Radiol; 1978 Mar; 29(1):62-3. PubMed ID: 641106.
    Abstract:
In a prospective study of 500 consecutive patients, the addition of oblique scans increased the accuracy of the colloid liver scans used to detect metastases. The oblique views changed the interpretation in 12 (2.4%) patients; objective evidence to support this change was obtained in 11 of the 12. The addition of at least a right anterior oblique scan should, on this evidence, form part of the radiocolloid evaluation of the liver for the presence of metastatic disease.
