    Abstract:
    Previous investigations have revealed that the semibiological left heart assist gave a reasonably good performance under simulated physiological pressures, flow and rate conditions. The present study gives details of 50 animal experiments where the duration of the left ventricular-aorta bypass pumping varied between 2 and 24 hours. It was demonstrated that the device can be inserted and used without systemic or local anticoagulants and with a negligible degree of blood trauma up to 24 hours.
