Title: [Complications following duodenopancreatectomy in chronic pancreatitis]. Author: Flautner L, Tihanyi T, Bock G, Szécsény A. Journal: Chirurg; 1984 Jun; 55(6):404-6. PubMed ID: 6468036. Abstract: 42 partial and 5 total duodenopancreatectomies performed during the last ten years are reported. Complications--fistula, abscess, bleeding, insufficiency--occurred in 21 cases (46.5%). In 11 patients reoperation becomes necessary (23.4%) 6 patients died (12.7%). The advantages of primary partial duodenopancreatectomy comparing to other surgical procedures are discussed.
