    The differences between venous and reversible lymphatic oedema are minimal. Save a few rare exceptions, venous oedema are complicated at some stage by lymphatic oedema and become irreversible because of the fixation of water by the interstitial proteins and the hypertrophy of the conjunctival tissue.
