  • Title: [Calcium antagonists in the treatment of coronary heart disease].
    Author: Rafflenbeul W.
Journal: Fortschr Med; 1984 Jul 26; 102(27-28):718-21. PubMed ID: 6479814.
    Abstract:
In the treatment of coronary heart disease calcium antagonists unfold a whole spectrum of effects, which favorably influence the clinical picture; dilation of the peripheral vessels, of the coronary arteries and of the particularly eccentric stenoses of the coronary vessels. The myocardial protection and an inhibition of the thrombocyte aggregation in the predamaged vessel area are also discussed as favorable effects of the calcium antagonists. It seems that the prevention of coronary spasms is especially important for patients, who have an angina at rest.
