Title: [Indirect study of oxygen consumption of the heart muscle]. Author: Tahy A, Görgey J, Ritter A, Förster A. Journal: Z Gesamte Inn Med; 1984 Jul 15; 39(14):342-6. PubMed ID: 6485433. Abstract: The connection between the inner heart action in form of the double product and the physical functional capacity in watt (PWC) was controlled in patients with chronic ischaemic heart disease. For this purpose 64 patients with an average age of 47 years in the pulmological institute Mosdos and 25 patients with an average age of 53 years in the clinic for internal medicine of Berlin Humboldt University underwent a bicycle ergometer load. The double product, calculated from the systolic blood pressure and the heart rate, was regarded as measure for the myocardial oxygen consumption. It was established that there is a correlation between the inner heart action measured at the lover load level and the physical functional capacity in watt achieved simultaneously or later.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
