Abstract: Neonatal hip examination is only effective with the help of a large number of experts. Teamwork between pediatrician, pediatric orthopedic surgeon and general practitioner seems to be essential. Best results can be achieved with a hip examination during the first 4 days of life and controls with 3 months and with 12 months. The technic of clinical examination and diagnosis is described.
