Title: [Arterio-mesenteric duodenal occlusion in children and adolescents--a rare form of intestinal obstruction]. Author: Appell RG, Bolkenius M. Journal: Z Kinderchir; 1984 Oct; 39(5):310-4. PubMed ID: 6516593. Abstract: The arteriomesenteric occlusion of the duodenum is a rare form of intestinal obstruction in children and adolescents. Precipitating factors are disorders of the spine, loss of weight and kachexia. The angle formed by the mesenteric artery and the aorta determines whether or not an obstruction at this point occurs. With the exception of acute forms of obstruction the treatment is conservative. For patients, in whom conservative treatment is inappropriate, the different surgical approaches are discussed.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
