  • Title: [The "definitely" prenatally developed neuroblastoma. A review].
    Author: Bachmann KD.
Journal: Geburtshilfe Frauenheilkd; 1983 Jun; 43 Suppl 1():111-4. PubMed ID: 6555124.
    Abstract:
This is a report on 175 "definitely" congenital neuroblastomas, 92 of which were localised in the adrenals. Preferred metastasising takes place into the liver (type: Pepper) and the skin (type: Smith), whereas metastases in the skeleton were only rarely involved (type: Hutchinson). The peculiarities in metastasing and the markedly more favourable prognosis make it possible to differentiate between the "definitely" prenatally developed neuroblastomas (clinical or pathological anatomic diagnosis within the first 14 days of life) with regard to their biological qualities, and the neuroblastomas occurring in older infants and children.
