Title: [Immunologic study of cerebrospinal fluid in the diagnosis of posttraumatic meningitis]. Author: Pavlovichev SA. Journal: Zh Vopr Neirokhir Im N N Burdenko; 1983; (3):18-21. PubMed ID: 6613426. Abstract: Immunological examination of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in 280 patients in the acute period of craniocerebral trauma demonstrated an increase in the beta-lysin content and lysozyme concentration in it when meningitis developed. Increase in the CSF beta lytic and lysozyme activity reflects the severity of the inflammatory process. Tests for these factors in the CSF may be used in the early diagnosis of post-traumatic meningitis.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
