    Abstract:
    Alterations of the endometrium caused by incrustated intrauterine contraceptive devices were subjected to electron microscopic examination. The changes were of non-specific character and appeared in the epithelial cells. Dilatation of the endoplasmatic reticula, degranulation and augmentation of microfilaments were conspicuous. The lesions are likely to have played some part in the later developments.
