    After 15 mg/kg dexamethasone pretreatment, conscious dogs in haemorrhagic shock demonstrated an augmented plasma noradrenaline increase. Increasing early compensatory adrenergic neuroeffector response could be one of the mechanisms of the protective effect of steroids in shock.
