  • Title: [Activity of cerebellar Purkinje cells in the rat in response to stimulation of the inferior olive].
    Author: Lakanidina VE.
    Journal: Neirofiziologiia; 1983; 15(6):650-3. PubMed ID: 6669180.
    Abstract:
Electrical stimulation of inferior olive has been used to activate the climbing fibres input to cerebellar Purkinje cells in anesthetized rats. It has shown that typical Purkinje cell response to single impulse (0.5 ms duration) stimulation is a complex spike consisting of 2-6 spikes with frequency ranging from 450 to 500 spikes/sec. The mean latency of the Purkinje cell response is 5.8 +/- 0.6 (3-12) ms.
