  • Title: [Evoked potentials of the somatosensory system in patients with progressive muscular dystrophies].
    Author: Avakian GN.

    Abstract:
A study of evoked potentials at various levels of the somatosensory system in 90 patients with primary and secondary progressive muscular dystrophies (PMD) was carried out. The detected superficial changes in primary PMD (myopathies) at the clinical stages of the disease seem to be of a secondary nature induced by the myodystrophic process itself. The presented electrophysiological methods are contemporary and highly informative. They allow researchers to evaluate the condition of various levels of the somatosensory system and may be used for purposes of the differential diagnosis.
