    Consumption of water and salt solutions in conditions of ordinary and increased thirst depends on the state of the organism's cholinergic system. Atropine and proserine disturb the balance of sodium and potassium ions in the blood. alter the drinking motivational excitation and the specialized salt appetite. In dehydration, the acetylcholine concentration decreases in the blood.
