Title: [Clinico-electrophysiologic study of the anti-arrhythmic action of trimecaine]. Author: Zhelnov VV, Lazutin VK, Litvintsev VP, Giliarovskiĭ AK, Iankovskaia KI. Journal: Kardiologiia; 1984 May; 24(5):48-52. PubMed ID: 6748470. Abstract: The antiarrhythmic activity of trimecaine hydrochloride administered orally and intramuscularly was studied in 58 patients with coronary heart disease accompanied by ventricular and supraventricular rhythm disorders. In 73.9% of the cases the drug exhibited antiarrhythmic action which was reflected in a longer period of the recovery of sinus node function, inhibited conduction in the atrioventricular node and a decreased time of intraatrial conduction. Side effects were observed in 17.3% of the cases mostly with the oral drug; they tended to abate spontaneously 2-4 h after trimecaine hydrochloride withdrawal.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
