  • Title: The antitumor action of bacterial extracts. II. Suppressive effects of extracts of E. coil on subcutaneous tumors of mouse.
    Author: Watanabe T, Sakamoto I.
Journal: Jpn J Exp Med; 1982 Feb; 52(1):39-44. PubMed ID: 6752491.
    Abstract:
Subsequent to the previous report showing that the French pressure cell extract of E. coli exhibited a marked antitumor effect against several ascites tumors in the mouse, it has been demonstrated presently that the extract and the proteinous fraction obtained from cells of E. coli exert a definite suppressive effect against subcutaneous solid form tumors of mouse including young generation transplants of spontaneous mammary carcinoma arisen in C3H/He mice. However, occasional enhanced growth brought about by similar treatments left an important problem unsolved.
