PubMed ID: 6792510. Abstract: The importance of history and the findings of clinical examination is often underestimated in examination for male fertility. From the data so obtained arises the indication for examining the exocrine (spermiogram) and endocrine function of the hypothalamo-hypophysealgonad axis (testosterone, LH, FSH, prolactin, GRH and HCG stimulation tests). The numerous causes of fertility impairment outside the endocrinological field (internal medical and urological diseases, consumption behavior, psychic disturbances, medicines etc) are referred to.
