  • Title: Jejunal diverticulosis with perforation and peritonitis. Case report.
    Author: Kveim MH.
Journal: Acta Chir Scand; 1981; 147(4):305-6. PubMed ID: 6798798.
    Abstract:
Non-Meckelian diverticula of the jejunum and ileum are reported to occur in 0.3-4.6% of all autopsies. A case with the rare complication of perforation and peritonitis is reported. The perforated diverticulum, partly hidden by the mesenteric fat may be hard to detect. The condition should therefore be looked for specifically by the surgeon when laparotomy fails to disclose perforation in the usual locations.
