  • Title: [Macular edema due to posterior vitreous detachment--observations with fluorescein angiography].
    Author: Makabe R.
Journal: Klin Monbl Augenheilkd; 1983 Jan; 182(1):39-40. PubMed ID: 6855117.
    Abstract:
Description of five characteristic cases of macular edema caused by senile posterior vitreous detachment. Fluorescein angiography revealed no abnormalities and the macula remained devoid of significant changes. In cases where a fluorescein leakage in the macular area was found, a thick preretinal fibrosis occurred after several months with a decrease in visual acuity, which was initially good.
