Title: [Hormone receptors: clinical significance and problems in the treatment of breast cancer]. Author: Izuo M, Iino Y. Journal: Gan No Rinsho; 1983 May; 29(6):637-43. PubMed ID: 6876433. Abstract: ER and PgR were measured by sucrose gradient centrifugation in 212 cases of breast cancer. Positive rates of ER and PgR were 56% and 39%. Close relationship between receptor status in general and response to endocrine therapy was observed. In the respect of molecular forms of ER, however, the cases having receptor of "4S only" were less responsive. Inter-site variation within large tumor was examined and it was confirmed in almost 30% of series. To avoid such misjudge, tissue sliced at largest cross-section was recommended. As for prognosis of breast cancer, ER+ cases showed more favourable postoperative course in disease-free interval and also in interval from recurrence to death.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
