Abstract: In infancy it is important to recognize early manifestations of atopy and to learn how to evaluate a possible contribution of food allergy. Several immunological and biochemical mechanisms have been recognized in adverse reactions to foods. Still there is a problem in the clinical routine of how to verify a suspected food allergy or intolerance.
