Title: Acoustic aspects of auditory training with and without hearing aid. Author: Ludvigsen C. Journal: Scand Audiol Suppl; 1980; (Suppl 10):69-83. PubMed ID: 6934609. Abstract: Language stimulation of hearing impaired children is discussed from an acoustic point of view in two situations, 1) when the child is wearing a hearing aid, 2) when the child is not wearing a hearing aid but is spoken to directly at the ear (ad concham). Particularly the long-term spectrum of speech at the place of the eardrum is calculated in the two situations. Some factors of importance for the perception are discussed, viz. speech to noise ratio, distortion, the possibility of auditory and visual feedback etc. Psychological and pedagogical aspects are not treated.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
