  • Title: [Psychological implications in the diagnosis of "gynecologic" peridontosis].
    Author: Luzi V, Colangelo G, Martini A.
Journal: Dent Cadmos; 1981 Nov; 49(11):55-63. PubMed ID: 6959838.
    Abstract:
As an increase in the incidence of periodontal abnormalities was observed in women, especially during particular phases of their reproductive life (puberty, menstruation, during contraceptive use, and pregnancy), many authors decided to investigate further. A psychosomatic explanation was proposed to stand alongside the classic biochemical and endocrinologic ones. (author's modified)
