  • Title: [Cortico-cancellous grafts in infected defect-pseudarthrosis].
    Author: Plank E, Burri C, Heine M, Lintner P.
Journal: Helv Chir Acta; 1980 Jun; 47(1-2):171-5. PubMed ID: 7002874.
    Abstract:
Biomechanical studies of stabilizing effect of cortico-cancellous-grafts showed that the resistance of internal fixation is not endangered acutely under a one-foot weight bearing situation. The stability of defectosteosynthesis was significantly raised not only when a lateral joist was left but also when a medial cortico-cancellous-graft was fixed. 29 patients with chronical defectosteitis were treated by internal fixation and cortico-cancellous-grafts on the opposite side to improve mechanical stability and to place biological material for bridging.
